River Yeo and River Parrett Moors around Muchelney and Thorney

The Yeo and Parrett rivers levels remain high with further rain forecast on Wednesday and Thursday. Flooding will affect the road from Langport to Muchelney if the drain level at Huish Episcopi pumping station exceeds 7.3m; the road from Muchelney to Long Load above 7.86m; Muchelney to Thorney above 7.93m and Muchelney to Drayton above 8.8m. We are continuing to monitor rainfall and river levels. River Parrett levels are being managed using the Parrett relief channel. We are operating our pumping stations when river levels allow. Avoid driving, cycling or walking through flood water. Refer to Somerset Council’s website for any local road closures.
