Flood Alert

South East Somerset Rivers, Upper Reaches

Following on from yesterday's rainfall (21/02/25), Sherbourne Lake remains just above the Flood Alert threshold of 3.55m. This means that the Lake is full and the spillway runs. Historically Sherbourne Lake takes a while to return to its normal level and with the expected heavy band of rainfall due on Sunday from 6pm, this Flood Alert is likely to stay in force. Only isolated short bursts of rain are expected today, with the rest of the day to remain dry with sunny spells. We are closely monitoring rainfall and river levels and will continue to assess the situation. Please take care and avoid walking, cycling, or driving through floodwaters. Flooding of roads and low-lying areas is possible, but property flooding is not expected. This message will be updated by 11AM on 23/02/2025, or sooner if conditions change.
