Groundwater flooding in the Cranborne Chase area

Groundwater levels have risen in response to recent rainfall and flooding of fields and roads is possible. Areas most at risk include: the Iwerne and the Pimperne Brook areas. No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days and we expect levels to start to plateau and possibly fall in the next few days. Levels are reactive to further rainfall. Where groundwater is near the surface, intense rainfall will lead to surface water flooding. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. We will continue to monitor the situation closely. This message will be updated by 3:00 PM on 21/01/2025.
