Flood Alert

Upper Arun

The River Arun is high and rising. 25mm of rain has been recorded at Itchingfield on Friday. This is a lot of rain in a short period of time. From 09:00 22/02/2025, flood water will affect fields and gardens of isolated mill properties between Broadbridge Heath and Pallingham Quay. The A272, Newbridge road near Billingshurst could be affected. From 16:00 22/02/2025 gardens of properties at Pallingham Lock could be affected. The river is already falling in Horsham, only minimal flood impacts are expected in Horsham. Only isolated showers are forecast on Saturday. The river should begin to fall by 16:00 22/02/2025 near Broadbridge Heath, but not until Saturday evening near Pallingham. Another 10mm, on both Sunday afternoon and Monday, will cause the river to rise and flooding to be possible again. The river will be higher than normal until Tuesday. Flood protection products are recommended to be installed in Wanford, if you have them. Our automatic sluice at Provender Mill is operating to help reduce the risk of flooding through Horsham. We will update this message by 11:00 23/02/2025.
