River Thames and tributaries in the Oxford area

High river levels may lead to flooding. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue today, 20 December 2025, particularly along the Thames near Godstow lock, Wolvercote, Osney, Binsey and Botley Road areas. River levels are rising slowly on the River Thames in response to recent heavy rainfall. The forecast is for it to be dry today and overnight with further rain on Sunday and Monday. It is expected that river levels will continue to rise slowly over the coming days. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
