River levels are falling but remain high at the Ashford river gauge as a result of rainfall and snowmelt associated with Storm Bert. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Ashford and Bakewell areas, and the A6 at Buxton.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 6 hours.
We expect river levels to remain high until early on Monday morning, 25/11/2024.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been patrolling watercourses in the area.
Please plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid contact with flood water.
