Flood Alert

Burton Trent

River levels remain high but are falling at the Croxall river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall over the weekend. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible today until this evening, Wednesday 11/12/24. We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Trent between Kings Bromley to Clay Mills including Burton upon Trent. No further rainfall is forecast for the next 12 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 12:00 on Thursday 12/12/24, or as the situation changes.
