Upper Teme

River levels are falling but remain high at the Onibury, Corve and Leintwardine river gauges following heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland continues today, Monday 25/11/24. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent the River Teme, River Onny and River Corve and their tributaries. Locations that may be affected include Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Knighton and Ludlow. Observed peaks:- Leintwardine 1.71m at 00:45 on Monday, 25/11/24; Onibury 2.67m at 16:15 on Sunday, 24/11/24; Corve 3.49m at 14:45 on Sunday, 24/11/24. No further significant rainfall is expected over the next 48 hours but showers are possible. We expect river levels to remain elevated for the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 08:00 on Tuesday 26/11/24, or as the situation changes.
