River levels remain high because of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent the river from Highley to Tewkesbury. Locations affected are Stourport, Holt Fleet, Worcester, Kempsey, Severn Stoke and Upton upon Severn. Install property level protection if required.
Observed peaks:- Bewdley 4.51m on Tuesday afternoon, 10/12/24, Worcester 4.96m early Wednesday morning, 11/12/2024. .
Predicted peaks:- Kempsey Yacht Club 6.4 to 6.7m, Wednesday morning, 11/12/24; Saxons Lode 4.9 to 5.1m on Wednesday afternoon, 11/12/24.
No significant rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
