River levels remain elevated but are falling slowly on the Tern - Walcot river gauge as a result of recent rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible from Friday 22/11/24 over the next few days. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Wolverley to Newport. Other locations that may be affected include Market Drayton, Wem and Rodington.
Light showers are forecast in the next 24 hours. Further heavy rainfall is forecast from Saturday 23/11/24
We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 17:00 on 22/11/24, or as the situation changes.
